Project Overview

The McLaren Vale Tourism website project involved a comprehensive redesign of two distinct yet interconnected sites aimed at enhancing both member engagement and tourist attraction. McLaren Vale, known for its rich wine region and vibrant community, required a modern, user-friendly digital presence to better serve its members and attract visitors. The project included branding refreshes and the creation of two tailored websites: one for local members and one for tourists.

Design Process

The design process began with thorough market research and competitor analysis to understand current trends and user expectations. This informed the development of a strategic site map and content map, guiding the design and functionality of both websites. Wireframes were created to layout the structure, followed by mood boards and design mock-ups to visualize the new look and feel.

For the member site, we introduced a new member portal, allowing members to manage their own accounts and update their information. This feature was designed to enhance member engagement and streamline communication within the community. The visitor site, on the other hand, was designed to highlight the attractions and offerings of McLaren Vale, promoting local producers and encouraging tourism.

Key Elements

The project focused on delivering two websites with distinct goals. For the member site, I incorporated features such as a personalised member portal and easy-to-navigate interfaces, ensuring that members could manage their profiles and stay connected with the community. The design emphasized a fresh, modern look aligned with McLaren Vale’s branding, enhancing user experience and accessibility.

The visitor site showcased McLaren Vale’s attractions and local producers through engaging visuals and intuitive navigation. The design aimed to create an inviting online experience for tourists, making it simple to explore what McLaren Vale has to offer and learn about its local businesses.
